Excessive vibration is one of the main causes of failure, damage to fueling assets and incidents related to rotating equipment.

Argus was retained to perform a Motion Amplification (MA) vibration analysis over all the pumps at the Nashville fuel facility. Argus performed analysis focusing on the coupling of several pumps to investigate any excessive vibration or misalignment.

MA is a vibration visualizer system showing amplified vibration frequencies at slow motion. A high-speed camera is utilized to take 140 fps high resolution snapshots of moving elements. Argus produced a summary report documenting the pumps and motors running within API 610 vibration limits.
