Tuwaiq KSA POL Facility

Fuels engineering support for multi-mission surface combatant ships at King Abdulaziz Naval Base in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), on behalf of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) and the US Government (USG), implemented various Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to provide for the purchase, deployment, and support of Tuwaiq Ships. Argus was the fueling consultant on the team retained for planning, design, and construction services to augment the King Abdulaziz Naval Base (KANB) in Jubail and the Naval Missile Maintenance Facility (NMMF) in Al Kharj to support RSNF’s fielding and operations of Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) Ships.

Argus provided master plan updates and the design for the ship and aircraft fuel systems. The design is comprised of aboveground vertical tank storage, pumps, controls and filtration equipment located in the Pump House, pipelines for both F-76 Diesel and JP-5 fuels between the storage facility and the pier as well as fueling connections located at the pier within the hotel stations. It includes the ability to defuel the ship and aircraft fuel systems, with a defuel booster pump located in the proximity of the pier as well as defuel pipelines between the pier and the fuel storage facility for both F-76 and JP-5. Fuels will be received via truck but a tie-in point to facilitate the future addition of pipeline delivery will be included.
